The dog ate my homework. Okay, well sort of.
I’m in my twelfth year with my book group and for the last three, I’ve read our monthly selections on my iPad. It has a wonderful electronic reader, every bit as functional as an Amazon Kindle or Barnes and Noble Nook. With the touch of my finger, I can find a definition, highlight a selection or bookmark my place. All this is wonderful if I actually use it and read the book. I’m somewhat of a procrastinator when it comes to getting the book finished. Reading is what I’m calling my “homework,” and my furry companion destroyed my iPad case when she was playing the “Games for Dogs” app. Yes, there are apps for dogs too.
I loved my iPad case. I had it decorated with stickers touting my latest and greatest achievements which included finishing a marathon, being a SMART (Start Making a Reader Today) volunteer, my favorite beer and of course a big one of my favorite college mascot, Benny the Beaver.
So, what’s the big deal, get a new iPad case, right? Well, when considering a new iPad case, I want it to have certain features. First and foremost, my iPad case should be made of quality material to protect the iPad. When I’ve invested several hundred dollars in a tablet that doubles as an eReader, I want to make sure it will survive the drops, tosses and dog games.
Second, my iPad case should be stylish. We all have our own personal style and I’m no exception. Whether I’m in a classic black leather cover mood or being a self-described fashionista, I want it to represent me.
And finally, my iPad case should be comfortable to hold, especially, for the eReader. Just as hardcover books have a solid feel to them and a certain paper quality that adds to my reading experience, I want my iPad to feel just as comfortable in my hands while I’m reading.
So now that I have these three things in mind, I’m going to go look for that perfect iPad case for me, and I’m sure it will be one I can add new stickers to. :o)
